While you should not necessarily dump all dairy, you should ditch damaging dairy. Why? It’s not healthy! To what products am I specifically referring to, and whom am I talking to?
I am not referring to yogurt or milk – unless you are lactose intolerant or have bowel or other issues worsened by dairy products. It is the high-fat dairy products that can aggravate your health. Consuming dishes with dairy based dressings, sauces and cheeses add thousands of calories to your diet which can negatively affect weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose. Numerous studies have also documented the harmful effects of high-fat dairy including increased dementia.
If you are at your ideal weight, have a normal blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose level, have no irritable bowel, constipation or other gastrointestinal problems, and everyone in your family lives into their 80s or longer in good health, then I am not referring to you. Most individuals out there are not in that camp and could benefit from ditching damaging dairy.
You will not find dairy based dressings, sour cream, or creamy cheeses in my refrigerator. You will never find Fettucine Alfredo on my plate – I ditched damaging dairy. My stomach and bowel issues are gone, and it’s much easier for me to keep my weight where I want it.
