Got any plans for next year?  For the remainder of this year?  Of course you do.  We all have an:

AGENDA – whether we realize it or not.  Our subconscious mind is directing our beliefs, decisions, and our actions.  It has an agenda.  It’s running the show!  FACT:  It’s giving us exactly what we desire whether it’s good for us or not, whether we realize it or not.  It’s directing our emotions and our actions. Why? It is tasked with satisfying six needs basic to every single one of us: our need for security, our need for significance, our need for variety, our need for love and connection, as well as the higher needs of growth and contribution. All your current thinking and your behaviors will get those needs met… somehow, healthy or unhealthy!

So take a moment to ask yourself a  critical question:  Are you happy with where you are now – physically, emotionally?  If not:  What’s been programmed into your AGENDA that needs modification or elimination?  Where has your Command Center (your prefrontal cortex) directed your subconscious mind to take you?  Why ponder this concept?  It defines everything you do and the person you are.

Is our agenda leading us to greater health?  One person that definitely has a wellness agenda is Yuval Harari, author of the international best seller Sapiens: A History of Mankind.  It’s on my PJS List of Must Reads.  In a recent interview, Harari stated that he blocks off time each year for a meditation retreat.  Bill Gates blocks off time each year to seclude himself from the world so he can focus on what he needs to do.  They realize the importance of turning off the noise and programming THEIR agenda into their subconscious mind directing them to a desirable outcome.

We don’t have to be an international best selling author or a billionaire to realize the importance of turning this world off and paying a visit to ourself.  It helps us delineate our agenda for life.  Blaise Paschal said it best 400 years ago: “All men’s miseries derive from not being able to sit in a quiet room alone.” Of course, 400 years ago that was much simpler to do than it is today.  With all the electronics and all of life’s commitments (which we impose on ourselves), it takes a real effort to put health in the agenda.  It takes visiting that agenda daily, reprogramming the subconscious mind to take us in a direction of peace, joy, and fulfillment.  I’m blessed to have a husband who years ago convinced me of the importance of daily meditation.  It’s about delivering your subconscious mind your agenda.  WARNING:  Be MINDFUL of what you put on your agenda.  Your subconscious mind WILL direct you there.  The Question:  Is your agenda Living WELL Aware?
